What an inspiring day! 🌟

On Friday, 14 November, Dem36 had the privilege of hosting a powerful roundtable conversation about the future of democracy in Australia, bringing together 30 democratic innovators, community leaders, and changemakers at Inparrila here in Adelaide.

Alongside local friends The Wyatt Trust, we were thrilled to welcome our national partners Mannifera, Australian Democracy Network, and Dusseldorp Forum to South Australia for this vital dialogue about democratic renewal and innovation.

The energy in the room was electric as we explored critical questions: How do we reimagine democracy for the decades ahead? What will it take to build a more adaptive democracy that protects rights and inclusion while embracing deliberative and participatory processes? As we look toward 2036 and beyond, do we need new constitutional frameworks that can respond to our rapidly changing world?

Key themes that emerged:
-The need to better connect and amplify the incredible democratic innovation already happening across communities
-The importance of building stronger networks among innovators, funders, and advocates
-The opportunity for South Australia to continue a tradition of democratic leadership

This conversation reminded us why Dem36 exists—to help shape a democracy that truly serves all South Australians and leads the way nationally.

Thank you to everyone who contributed their insights, experiences, and vision. Your participation showed us what's possible when we come together to imagine democratic futures.
